Managing Your Hiring Pipeline

Every job has its own pipeline view — a card-based board that shows where each candidate is in your hiring process. The pipeline runs through three stages, supports bulk actions, and ends with a structured disposition record so your reporting reflects what actually happened.

The Three Stages

Stori uses a three-stage pipeline by design — enough structure to track flow, simple enough that candidates don't get stuck in vague middle states.

  • Qualified — candidate has made it past initial screening. Interview may or may not be complete.
  • Progressed — actively moving through your evaluation. Typically post-interview review, second-round, or hiring manager screen.
  • Final — last stage before a hire/no-hire decision. Reaching Final unlocks the disposition modal so you can record the outcome.

You'll find the pipeline at Jobs → [your job] → Hiring. Cards are grouped by stage, left to right.

What's on a Candidate Card

Each card shows the candidate's photo (or generated avatar), name, current title and company, and a rank badge showing where they sit relative to the rest of your applicant pool ("#5 of 200"). Hover the card to reveal action buttons:

  • Thumbs up — advance to the next stage. From Final, this opens the disposition modal.
  • X — remove from the pipeline.
  • Profile (resume icon) — open the full candidate profile.
  • Stori Interview icon — jump straight into watching their interview.

Switching the Card Visual

Use the view dropdown in the page header to change what the cards show:

  • Image — photo or avatar (default, fastest to scan).
  • Intro — the candidate's recorded intro video, plays inline.
  • Stori Interview — the full AI interview, auto-skipping the AI's greeting to land on the first answer.

Only one video plays at a time across the whole board — starting playback on a new card pauses the previous one. Lets you binge through interviews without juggling tabs.

Advancing a Candidate

Click the thumbs-up button on a card to advance it one stage. There's no drag-and-drop — the click pattern is intentional, since advancing should be a small deliberate action rather than something that happens by accident.

When you advance from Final, the Disposition Modal opens. It captures the actual outcome: Hired, Offer Extended, Rejected (with one of 11 reasons), Withdrew (with one of 6 reasons), or Do Not Rehire. This is what feeds your hire-rate and reason-of-rejection data in Analytics and Reports — fill it in honestly.

Bulk Actions

Select multiple cards (checkbox in the top-left of each card) to reveal the bulk actions bar:

  • Move — shift all selected candidates to a target stage at once.
  • Add to Sequence — enroll selected candidates into an email sequence (Sourcing only). Requires unlocked email addresses.
  • Remove — bulk delete with confirmation.

Bulk move is the right tool when you want to reset a stage — for example, after a hiring manager review where you advanced ten candidates to Progressed but want to send them all to Final ahead of an interview round.

Filters and Saved Views

The filter bar narrows what shows on the board:

  • Interview Status — has interview / no interview.
  • Interview Score — minimum threshold (60, 70, 80, 90).
  • Contact Info — has email / no email.
  • Sort By — name, Stori Score, or interview score.

Save any combination as a Saved View. Useful patterns: "Strong interviews only" (score 80+), "Ready for outreach" (has email + Progressed stage), "Top of pipeline" (sort by Stori Score, all stages).

Recording Final Outcomes

The Disposition Modal is the single place where a candidate's hiring story closes. It records:

  • Outcome — Hired, Offer Extended, Rejected, Withdrew, or Do Not Rehire.
  • Reason — structured reason codes per outcome (e.g., "skills mismatch," "compensation expectations," "accepted competing offer").
  • Notes — free-text context for your team and future reference.

These reason codes are what power the rejection-reason breakdown in the Analytics Dashboard. The more consistently your team fills them in, the more useful that data becomes for tuning your top-of-funnel.
