How to Create an Account
Get up and running on Stori in minutes. Sign up for free, complete your profile, and start showcasing your professional story.
Signing Up
Creating a Stori account is free and takes less than two minutes. You can sign up using your email address or an existing Google account.
Go to the sign-up page
Visit stori.com/sign-up or click the "Get Started" button on the Stori homepage.
Enter your details
Provide your email address and create a password, or click "Continue with Google" to use your Google account. If using email, you will need to verify your address via a confirmation link sent to your inbox.
Confirm your email
Check your inbox for a verification email from Stori. Click the confirmation link to activate your account. If you do not see it, check your spam or junk folder.
If you signed up via a company invitation link, your account may be pre-configured with specific interview sections to complete.
Initial Profile Setup
After signing up, Stori will guide you through the initial setup. The fastest way to get started is to upload your resume.
Upload your resume
Drag and drop or browse for your resume file (PDF or Word). Stori's AI will automatically extract your work history, education, skills, and contact details to populate your profile. This typically takes a few seconds.
Review extracted information
After extraction, review each profile section to make sure everything was captured correctly. The AI does a great job, but you may want to adjust wording, add missing details, or remove outdated information.
Add a profile photo
Upload a professional headshot. Profiles with photos receive significantly more engagement from employers.
Set your job preferences
Specify your desired job title, location preferences, salary expectations, and work arrangement (remote, hybrid, or on-site). These preferences are also used by the Chrome extension to improve autofill accuracy.
If you skip the resume upload, you can always upload it later from your Profile page. However, completing your profile early gives you the best results when employers view your Stori.

Once your account is created and your basic profile is set up, here are the recommended next steps in order of impact:
- Take the Traits Assessment — Only 5-7 minutes and free, including your results. Measures your Drive, Resilience, Communication, Collaboration, and Adaptability.
- Install the Chrome extension — Enables one-click job application autofill on LinkedIn, Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, Ashby, and many company career pages.
- Record a Personal Intro — A short video with teleprompter support. Great for making a memorable first impression.
- Complete the Full Interview — The flagship Stori Method interview. Choose your archetype and have a real-time AI-powered conversation that covers your entire career journey.
You do not need to do everything in one sitting. Come back whenever you are ready to complete additional sections. Each completed section makes your profile stronger.

Every new account starts on the free Starter plan. You can upgrade at any time:
- Starter (Free) — Profile building, resume upload, both interview types, the Traits Assessment with results, being discovered by companies, Chrome extension autofill
- Outreach ($34/mo) — Everything in Starter plus a shareable Stori link, video-embedded PDF resume, 40 contact credits per month, hiring manager search, email outreach with tracking, and the ability to purchase additional credit packs

Troubleshooting Sign-Up Issues
Verification email not arriving?
- Check your spam or junk folder
- Make sure you entered the correct email address
- Try requesting a new verification email from the sign-up page
- If using a work email, your company's email filter may be blocking it — try a personal email instead
Google sign-up not working?
- Make sure pop-ups are not blocked for stori.com
- Try clearing your browser cache or using an incognito window
- If you have multiple Google accounts, make sure you are selecting the correct one
Already have an account?
- If you see "email already registered," use the sign-in page instead
- Use "Forgot Password" if you cannot remember your password
