Connect Claude or ChatGPT to Your Stori
Run your search from the chat you already use: ask what you said in your interview, find the people who own the roles you want, and have an introduction drafted in your voice. You decide what any connected app may do.
What the Connection Does
Your Stori speaks the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open standard AI assistants use to work with other tools. Connect it to Claude or ChatGPT and you can work on your search without leaving the chat:
- “What did I say in my interview about leaving my last role? Quote me.”
- “Which of the roles I'm tracking moved this week?”
- “Find the people who lead design at companies like the ones I've worked for, and draft an introduction in my voice.”
- “Which employers can see my interview right now?”
Everything the assistant reads is your own: your profile, your interview and report, the jobs you are tracking, and your outreach. It never sees another candidate, and it cannot compare you with anyone.
Setup (About a Minute)
In Claude
- Open claude.ai → Settings → Connectors and look for Stori. If it is not listed yet, choose Add custom connector and paste
https://www.onestori.com/api/mcp. - Claude sends you to Stori's sign-in. Sign in with the account your Stori lives on.
- If you also belong to an employer workspace, Stori asks which to connect. Choose your personal Stori.
- Review the permissions and click Allow. Start a new chat and ask away.
In ChatGPT
Stori for Job Seekers is in review for the ChatGPT app directory. Until it appears there, connect it through developer mode: Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced → Developer mode, then create a connector with the URL https://www.onestori.com/api/mcp/candidate and sign in the same way.
The interview and trait assessment are yours because you said it and Stori recorded it. No connected app can change either, whatever you allow below.
What Connected Apps Can Do
What an app may do is decided in Settings → Privacy & Data → AI Apps, not in the app. The switches there apply to every connected assistant, and they sit above whatever you approved when you connected: allowing something in Claude never turns on something you have switched off in Stori.
Two switches touch only your own account and are on from the start:
- Read your Stori — your profile, interview, transcript, report, saved jobs and notifications. Turning this off stops every connected app.
- Update your profile — work history, education, skills, links and job preferences.
Everything else reaches another person, spends your credits, or changes who can see you. Each is off until you turn it on:
- Change who can see you — sharing settings and profile links
- Search for hiring managers — each search spends your search budget
- Reveal contact details — each reveal spends an outreach credit
- Draft outreach — writes emails in your name and saves them as drafts; nothing is sent
- Send outreach — sends email in your name and runs sequences
- Apply to jobs — submits real applications to real employers on your behalf
Draft and send are separate on purpose, so an assistant can write while you still press send.
Your current employer can never see your interview, whatever an app is allowed to do. That rule lives in Stori itself, not in the permissions above.
Managing and Disconnecting
The same page lists every assistant connected to your Stori, when it connected and when it last did anything. Disconnect takes effect immediately: the app's access is revoked and its next request is refused.
